Safety, Security & Fraud Prevention
Last Updated: September 2, 2026
At Nexa Cards, protecting our customers, accounts, transactions, and digital products is an important part of how we operate.
Because gift cards, game top-ups, digital codes, subscriptions, and other digital products may be delivered quickly and can become difficult or impossible to reverse after fulfillment, we use security and fraud-prevention measures designed to identify suspicious or unauthorized activity before delivery.
This page explains how Nexa Cards approaches customer safety, account security, payment protection, transaction review, fraud prevention, and the protection of digitally delivered products.
1. Our Approach to Safety and Security
Nexa Cards uses a combination of technical, operational, payment, and transaction-review measures designed to reduce security and financial risks.
These measures may help us identify and prevent:
- Unauthorized transactions.
- Payment fraud.
- Account compromise.
- Card testing.
- Suspicious purchasing activity.
- Chargeback and refund abuse.
- Unauthorized access to digital products.
- Promotion or discount abuse.
- False delivery or product claims.
- Other activity presenting a significant security or financial risk.
Security procedures may vary depending on the transaction, customer account, product, payment method, and information available at the time of review.
2. Secure Payment Processing
Payments made through Nexa Cards may be processed by independent third-party payment service providers.
Depending on the payment method used, sensitive payment information may be submitted directly to the applicable payment provider through its own secure payment infrastructure.
Nexa Cards may receive limited transaction information such as:
- Payment status.
- Transaction identifier.
- Payment method type.
- Card brand where applicable.
- Masked payment information.
- Billing country.
- Payment verification results.
- Fraud or risk indicators provided by the payment service provider.
Customers should never send full payment card numbers, card security codes, banking passwords, or other unnecessary sensitive payment credentials to Nexa Cards Support. For additional information about checkout and payment processing, please review our Payment Methods.
3. Transaction Screening
Orders may be evaluated using automated controls, payment-provider security tools, or manual review before digital fulfillment.
Depending on the circumstances, a transaction review may consider information such as:
- Order value.
- Product type.
- Transaction frequency.
- Customer account history.
- Previous orders.
- Payment status.
- Payment verification results.
- Billing information.
- IP address.
- Approximate geographic location.
- Device and browser information.
- Unusual purchasing patterns.
- Multiple or repeated payment attempts.
- Information provided by payment or security providers.
- Other indicators reasonably associated with transaction risk.
A transaction being selected for additional review does not necessarily mean that fraudulent activity has occurred.
4. Additional Security Reviews
Certain orders may be temporarily held for additional security review before fulfillment.
A review may be triggered where, for example:
- An order has an unusually high value.
- Multiple purchases are attempted within a short period.
- Payment information appears inconsistent.
- Account behavior differs significantly from previous activity.
- Location or device information presents an unusual risk.
- A payment provider identifies elevated transaction risk.
- Multiple unsuccessful payment attempts occur.
- An account appears to have been compromised.
- Additional confirmation is reasonably necessary before irreversible delivery.
Delivery may be temporarily delayed while a security review is completed.
5. Customer Verification
Where reasonably necessary and permitted by applicable law, Nexa Cards may request additional information to verify a transaction before delivery.
Verification may be used to confirm:
- Customer identity.
- Payment authorization.
- Account ownership.
- Billing information.
- Transaction legitimacy.
- Authorization to use the selected payment method.
The type of information requested will depend on the circumstances of the transaction.
Customers should provide verification information only through official Nexa Cards communication channels.
Nexa Cards will never ask customers to provide their Nexa Cards password or full payment card security credentials through ordinary customer support communications.
6. Order Holds, Rejections and Cancellations
Nexa Cards may temporarily hold, reject, cancel, or refund an order where we reasonably determine that fulfillment may present a significant fraud, security, financial, or legal risk.
This may include situations involving:
- Suspected unauthorized payments.
- Payment verification failure.
- Suspected stolen payment information.
- Card-testing behavior.
- Possible account compromise.
- False or inconsistent customer information.
- Promotion or discount abuse.
- Repeated suspicious transaction attempts.
- Payment-provider restrictions.
- Applicable legal or regulatory requirements.
- Violation of our Terms & Conditions.
Successful payment authorization does not automatically guarantee that an order will be accepted or fulfilled.
7. Protecting Digital Codes
Gift cards, activation codes, PINs, game keys, and other digital codes should be treated carefully after delivery.
Once a digital code has been delivered, customers should:
- Keep the code private.
- Redeem it only through the intended official platform.
- Avoid publishing the code publicly.
- Avoid sharing it with unknown individuals.
- Avoid sharing screenshots containing the complete code.
- Verify the identity of anyone claiming to provide customer support.
Once a valid code has been successfully delivered and disclosed to the customer, it may be difficult or impossible to recover if the customer voluntarily shares it with another person. For additional information about digital fulfillment and delivery, please review our Digital Delivery Policy.
8. Direct Game Top-Up Security
Certain game top-ups require customers to provide account information necessary for fulfillment.
This may include:
- Player ID.
- User ID.
- Character ID.
- Server.
- Region.
- Platform.
- Other account identifiers required for delivery.
Customers should carefully verify all information before confirming an order.
For standard direct top-up products where only a Player ID, User ID, server, or similar identifier is required, customers should not provide their game account password.
9. Customer Account Security
Customers are responsible for taking reasonable steps to protect their Nexa Cards accounts.
We recommend that customers:
- Use a strong and unique password.
- Avoid reusing passwords from other websites.
- Keep login credentials private.
- Secure the email account associated with Nexa Cards.
- Sign out when using shared or public devices.
- Avoid suspicious links claiming to represent Nexa Cards.
- Contact support promptly if unauthorized activity is suspected.
Nexa Cards may temporarily restrict an account where we reasonably believe that the account has been compromised or is being used without authorization.
10. Fraud Prevention and Account Monitoring
Nexa Cards may review account and transaction activity to identify patterns associated with fraud, payment abuse, unauthorized access, or other suspicious behavior.
Examples of activity that may trigger additional security measures include:
- Numerous payment attempts within a short period.
- Repeated declined transactions.
- Unusually large purchases.
- Rapid changes in account activity.
- Multiple accounts associated with suspicious behavior.
- Payment information inconsistent with transaction information.
- Repeated unsupported refund or chargeback claims.
- Attempts to exploit pricing, promotional, or technical errors.
Where reasonably necessary, we may restrict transactions or account access while suspicious activity is investigated.
11. Card Testing and Payment Abuse
Using Nexa Cards to test whether stolen, unauthorized, randomly generated, or otherwise improperly obtained payment card details are valid is strictly prohibited.
Nexa Cards and its payment providers may use transaction limits, rate controls, payment-provider security systems, account restrictions, or other safeguards designed to identify and reduce card-testing activity.
Transactions or accounts associated with suspected card testing may be blocked, canceled, restricted, or reported to the applicable payment provider where appropriate.
12. Refund and Chargeback Abuse
Customers retain legitimate refund and payment-dispute rights available under applicable law and the rules of their payment provider.
However, intentionally false, misleading, duplicate, or abusive claims are prohibited.
Examples may include:
- Claiming that a successfully delivered product was never received.
- Claiming that a code was invalid after it was successfully redeemed.
- Providing altered, incomplete, or misleading evidence.
- Requesting a direct refund while simultaneously attempting to recover the same payment through a chargeback.
- Repeatedly submitting unsupported claims.
Where a payment dispute occurs, Nexa Cards may provide relevant transaction and fulfillment records to the applicable payment provider where permitted. Refund and cancellation eligibility is described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
13. Transaction and Delivery Records
For customer support, fraud prevention, account security, transaction investigation, and dispute-resolution purposes, Nexa Cards may maintain records associated with orders and digital fulfillment.
These records may include:
- Order number.
- Product purchased.
- Customer account information.
- Payment status.
- Order and payment timestamps.
- IP address.
- Device or browser information.
- Transaction-review information.
- Delivery timestamp.
- Supplier transaction identifiers.
- Top-up or fulfillment confirmation.
- Email delivery information.
- Customer support communications.
- Refund and payment-dispute information.
Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
14. Invalid or Already-Redeemed Code Claims
If a customer reports that a digital code is invalid or already redeemed, Nexa Cards may investigate the claim before determining whether a replacement or refund is appropriate.
The investigation may include:
- Reviewing the order and delivery records.
- Confirming when the product was delivered.
- Reviewing screenshots or error messages provided by the customer.
- Verifying the product with the relevant supplier or distributor where available.
- Confirming whether and when the code was redeemed where such information is available.
Where available evidence confirms that a digital product was defective or unusable before delivery, the order may qualify for a replacement or refund in accordance with our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
15. Phishing and Impersonation
Customers should be cautious of websites, emails, messages, advertisements, or social media accounts falsely claiming to represent Nexa Cards.
Nexa Cards will not ask customers through unsolicited messages to provide:
- Nexa Cards account passwords.
- Full payment card numbers.
- Card security codes.
- Banking passwords.
- One-time banking authentication codes.
- Remote access to their computer or mobile device.
Customers should verify that they are using the official Nexa Cards website:

16. Third-Party Payment and Security Providers
Nexa Cards may rely on independent payment processors, hosting providers, fraud-prevention services, security providers, suppliers, publishers, and other service providers.
These providers may apply their own security and transaction controls.
A payment provider may independently:
- Approve or decline a transaction.
- Request additional authentication.
- Place a payment under review.
- Reverse or reject a transaction.
- Apply transaction limits.
- Restrict certain payment methods or transactions.
Nexa Cards does not control all decisions independently made by third-party payment or security providers. Additional payment-provider information is available in our Payment Methods.

Supply and fulfillment arrangements may vary depending on:
- Product.
- Brand.
- Region.
- Denomination.
- Availability.
- Delivery method.
Supplier transaction information may be used where reasonably necessary to investigate delivery or product-validity claims.
